Après plusieurs années de discussions permettant de finaliser des règlements unifiés, le Dakar intègre les championnats du monde de rallye-raid de la FIA et de la FIM. Dans le cadre de cette réforme, A.S.O. a été désignée comme promoteur de cette compétition qui s’étalera sur cinq manches pour la saison 2022.

L’engagement du Dakar dans la transition énergétique connait aussi une étape décisive avec l’acte I du plan « Dakar Future » : la création par la FIA en autos d’une catégorie T1-Ultimate qui accueille des véhicules à motorisations alternatives.
Sur ce Dakar, STA COMPETITION engage 12 véhicules, 3 camions T5 en assistance course, 4 camions T6 en assistance bivouac, 2 voitures dont une en assistance course et 3 camions sur le Dakar Classic.
